University of The Bahamas (UB) is preparing to welcome more than 600 friends, alumni, students, staff, faculty, cycling, running, walking enthusiasts along with persons with disabilities at the Oakes Field Campus for the much anticipated 4th Annual UBFIT 5K/10K scheduled for Saturday, 4th April 2020. Funds raised will primarily focus on Hurricane Dorian Relief for UB-North, UB's Annual Fund and special needs enhancements around campus. Join us for this exciting flat and fast 5K/10K course.
Event Details Schedule
When and where is the 2020 packet pickup?
Packet pickup will be at University of The Bahamas Chapter One bookstore
(University Drive) from March 30th – April 3rd. There will be race morning registration
once there are still spaces available, plan to arrive early to join the race.
What time does the race start?
10K starts at 6:00 a.m. & 5K starts at 6:05 a.m.

Where is the starting line?
University of The Bahamas, Oakes Field Campus, University Drive entrance.
Will there be starting corrals?
No, but suggest you lineup according to your speed, faster runners in the front.
Are there port o lets on the course?
No. However, there are restrooms available on campus before and after the race.
How many water stops and/or replenishment stations are there?
Water/Powerade will be provided at 4 locations on course.
Is there any water (at the starting line)?
Yes. Water will be at the start line.
Is there gear check?
As the race is fairly short in duration, gear check will not be provided.
I’m a slow runner/walker. Is the course clearly marked?
The course is clearly marked with mile markers, signs, marshals and spectators.
Are there timing clocks at each mile?
No, however timing mats are provided at the start and finish
line. There will be a race official at the 10k and 5k turn to validate crossing
Is there medical course support?
An ambulance will be patrolling the course, the water stops are manned by student
nurses and cyclists are also on course and they can alert the medical
team/ambulance. There is also a medical team at the finish line.
What is the course elevation?
The course is completely flat.
What is the course cut-off time?
2 hours for all events
Where is my timing chip?
Your timing chip is affixed to your bib. Please do not bend. The bib must be worn on
the front of your body, either shorts or t-shirts, for the entire event or you may risk
not receiving a time.
Can I switch events, transfer my registration, or get a refund?
You can switch between the 10K and 5K at packet pickup provided space is
available. Any difference in costs are due, discounts do not apply, and a transfer fee
may apply. You cannot transfer your registration to another person or defer yourregistration.
Can I sign up on race morning?
There is no guarantee shirts and swag bags willbe available on race morning.
Are there any prizes and awards?
Yes. Every finisher of both the 5K and 10K will
receive a finishers medal. Category winners of the 5K and 10K will receive trophies.
Will there be refreshments at the finish line?
Yes. There will be fruits and wateravailable.
When will the Awards ceremony begin?
The awards ceremony will begin at 7:15 a.m
