The 6th annual Spellbound Century road bike event takes place in Mount Holly, Burlington County, NJ where you ride by local horse farms and historic towns on mostly flat roads and some challenging rolling hills. The ride starts from historic Mount Holly, NJ, the County seat of Burlington County and ends at Spellbound Brewing, Mount Holly, NJ. Riders will have various mileage options to choose from including family friendly 20 miles, to a more experience 45 and 63 miles, to a challenging 100 miles. The route will be diverse on quite roads and will have lots of straightaways. The ride routes are marked, fully SAG supported, and riders are assisted on the road by a local motorcycle club. The event will also have fully stocked planned rest stops along the way at farm markets where riders can purchase local fresh goods that will be delivered to Spellbound Brewing so the purchases will be waiting for the riders when they finish the ride. The event also includes a post ride celebration at Spellbound Brewing where you will be treated to a pint of beer, pizza, Italian water ice, local vendors, physical therapist, and live entertainment. Participants who register before July 3rd will receive the popular event t-shirt. Additionally, Century riders will be awarded a custom-made pin and medal in recognition of their day’s accomplishment.
The Spellbound Century has become one of the premier riding events of the summer in New Jersey. The event historically has sold out months before the day off, so register early to secure your spot.
For 2020, your participation will be benefitting the Mount Holly Police Department’s Canine Unit by allowing for the purchase of two trained K9’s and require equipment. Police canines play a vital role in law enforcement and the protection of the communities they serve. K9’s is utilized to deter crime, protect officers and citizens, track and apprehend dangerous criminals, locate lost children/elderly persons, locate evidence, perform K9 demonstrations for community policing events and many more vital roles.
In addition to the to the Mount Holly Police Department Canine Unit, your sponsorship will benefit the Mount Holly School District Parent/Teacher Organizations (PTO/A) by allotting the donated funds for the establishment of a Student Lounge in Holbein School, continuation of the building of the STEM and Sensory rooms at Folwell School and the purchase of indoor/outdoor sensory equipment for Brainerd School. All schools are in Mount Holly, NJ.
The event is scheduled for Saturday July 25, 2020. The Spellbound Century will start in downtown Mount Holly on the corner of Washington Street and Park Drive by the Mount Holly Township Municipal Building. By starting the event on Park Drive it will allow participants access to all the free public parking spaces off Rancocas Road. Registration for participants doing the century ride starts at 6:00 AM and roll out will be at 6:45 AM. Participants doing the 63 miles or 45 miles’ route registration begins at 7:00 and 8:00 am and roll out will be at 7:30 am and 8:30 am. Participants doing the 20 miles’ route registration starts at 8:30 AM and roll out will be 9:00 AM. The ride ends at Spellbound Brewing, 10 Lippincott Ln, Unit 12, Mount Holly. All participants should be back to Spellbound by 3:30 PM. Free shuttle service will be provided from Spellbound Brewing to the parking lots for participants. All riders must always wear helmets and obey traffic laws. This is a rain or shine event. Hours subject to change depending on weather.
