Description

Fuel up for the Raceway 5K at Sonoma Raceway! Sprint or stroll the same course as NASCAR drivers, with stunning wine country views as you navigate through the 12-turn, multi-dimensional road course with a 5K and 2.52-mile option. Run or walk the self-timed course, and if you still have a need for speed, take a high-speed “hot lap” around the track with a professional driver at the wheel. Kids can participate in a Kids Fun Run on the track, plus a LEGO “Build and Race” and more!

All proceeds from the event will benefit both Speedway Children’s Charities Sonoma and No Stomach For Cancer – two causes that support children and families in critical and medical need.

The event will open with a dedication in honor of longtime raceway spokesperson John Cardinale, who passed away in 2013 after a battle with stomach cancer.

Race day entertainment includes:

• A pre-race warm up to get the blood flowing, and drills to help you feel ready to race provided by Danielly's Fitness
• A spirited Kids Fun Run warm-up provided by Sonoma Gymnastics and their competitive gymnastics team
• Post-race compression therapy for participants provided by Sonoma Cryo
• LEGO "Build & Race" station
• Complimentary post-race snacks, coffee and hot chocolate provided by Levy Restaurants

The race track is a smooth, paved surface with various elevation changes. The Kids Fun Run will be held on a small portion of the track, which is flat. Strollers and dogs on a leash are welcome.

Event details and schedule

• 7-9 am: Packet Pick-Up & Bag Check
• 8:30-10 am: Official 5k/Fun Run Start with warmup provided by Danielly Fitness
• 9:30 am: Kids Fun Run with warmup provided by Sonoma Gymnastics Academy
• 10:30 am - 12 pm: Hot Lap Rides
