Description

It's time to register for the 7th Annual Heroes for Hope 5K Run/Walk, Kid’s Marathon, and 1 Mile Walk of Valor. Join us and help honor and raise awareness of Childhood Cancer Awareness Month!! This year we are excited to announce that our race will benefit St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, Heroes for Hope, and Brother’s Keepers.  This year we will hold the race at Acme Brick - 3024 Acme Brick Plaza, Fort Worth, TX 76109.

We will have 4 events this year. We will have Fort Worth's ONLY Kid's Marathon!! This is a great introduction to fitness and running for our kiddos (14 and under). We will provide an 8 and 12 week training programs they can follow at their own pace and parents can keep track of their progress on our mileage tracker. Our plans will guide your child through all but one mile of their full marathon (26.2 miles). They will complete their last mile with us on race day and receive a race t-shirt, finisher's medal, and BBQ lunch. If you would like the training programs and mileage tracker, please email us at agrady04@yahoo.com.

We will also have a free Kids 1 Mile Fun Run for those who don’t want to train all summer. Kids that just want to run the 1 mile fun run on race day, do not need to register and they will not receive a t-shirt or BBQ lunch.  Kids Marathon and Kids Fun Run begins at 7:40am.

We will have a 1 Mile Walk of Valor that begins at 7:50am. This is simply a 1 mile walk to honor and remember our service members and the commitment they have made. Join us for this patriotic show of appreciation. Registration includes race t-shirt, BBQ lunch and awesome craft beer (21+).

Our 5K Run/Walk will begin at 8:10am. Come give us your best and set a new PR or push yourself to complete your first 5K. There will be plenty of energy and excitement on the course! Come out and help us honor our little HEROES who are in the fight of their lives!

All levels are welcome! If you can run, walk, or crawl this is your race! We will have free craft beer (21+), free BBQ, free fresh fruit, SUPERHEROES and PRINCESSES, free massages, a contest for largest team and largest HERO team, a kids fun zone, and an awesome vendor village (bring extra money for all the cool stuff!). We will have awards for Overall Male and Female, Overall Masters Male and Female, and traditional 5 year age group awards. We will also have an awards category for 8-9 and 10-12 year olds.

Our 2019 Ambassadors of Hope are Reagan, Santino, Ivy, and Isaiah. Reagan was diagnosed with neuroblastoma when she 9 months old and is cancer free! Santino was diagnosed with neuroblastoma just before his 3rd birthday and although he is not cancer free his cancer is stable. Ivy and Isaiah are brother and sister. Ivy was diagnosed with AML leukemia at 22 months. She is now cancer free. Isaiah was diagnosed with Soft Tissue Sarcoma when he was 9 years old. Because of this type of cancer, he will never be considered cancer free.

They will design this year's medals!! If you would like to make sure you receive this year’s specially designed medal, you may purchase one up until August 10th. Are you running in honor/in memory of someone? Have their name listed on the back of this year's shirt. Camp Gladiator will lead a fun pre-race warmup.  Cox Racing Services will provide chip timing. Come check out the coolest race of the year!!
