ABOUT THE RACE: "Race to Remember" Memorial Day HONORING THE ULTIMATE SACRIFICE which has been our mission since 2009 when our founder and CEO Claudia Cardenas lost her fiancé SFC Jason D. Vinyard an Army Veteran of 20years. See below for additional NonProfit details.

ABOUT THE RACE: “Race to Remember” Memorial Day Race is an annual event. The purpose of this event is to come together as a community to remember and honor the ultimate sacrifice made by our fallen military heroes. This race takes place in Vancouver WA centered around the Vancouver Waterfront and Fort Vancouver. One of the most heartfelt parts of our Memorial Day ceremonies is the Honor Mile which is a community walk which display’s posters of those that have made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom.

Below are the five races we organize a year.

 ABOUT RACE TO REMEMBER: Race to Remember is a year-round Military nonprofit whose mission is to honor, support and remember the services and sacrifice of military veterans, first responders and their families.  “Race to Remember” is the name of our nonprofit in addition to the name we use for all of our races and events throughout the year.  Throughout the years "Race to Remember", has created races and community outreach events with the intended purpose to provide a place to come together to ensure our communities NEVER FORGETS that FREEDOM ISN'T FREE and to remember the service and sacrifice(s) that our veteran, first responders and their families make every day to continue to protect our Freedom while keeping us safe.

In addition to racing, we organize and participate in other events that honor and support our Veterans such as military care package drives, Honor Flight flag escorts, Honor the Fallen events (in partnership with The Patriot Guard), Veteran moving assistance, as well as providing opportunities for our local youth to better understand the true meaning behind the Veteran and Patriotic Holidays. We coordinate and host events such as “Soldier in the Classroom”, “Thank You Cards” and “Books for Soldiers”. Our goal is to continue to build partnerships with other organizations in our communities and throughout the nation to help honor and support our past, present and future Veterans and First Responders. Our long term goal is to establishment a scholarship program for the children and spouses of the Fallen Heroes.

– 8:30am Registration Opens (Phil Arnold Way and Columbia)
– 9:40 am Opening Ceremonies
– 10:00am 5K & 10K race starts
– 10:25am First Finisher is expected
– 11:30am Honor Mile (1mile memorial walk) – FREE if registered for 5k, 10k
-1:00-1pm Closing Ceremonies

Timed Race | Medal/DogTag| Food & Snacks
*Event Shirts not included unless order and must order by 5/11/2023 to get at packet pickup. Extra shirts ordered, which can be purchased on race day
